SACRED JOURNEYS INTO SILENCE

TORONTO AREA INTERFAITH COUNCIL (TAIC)

"FAITH AND COMMUNITY SAFETY"

Second Annual Interfaith Breakfast with Mayor Miller and City Councillors

     The Toronto Area Interfaith Council (TAIC) organized a successful second annual breakfast with Toronto City Mayor David Miller and a number of City Councillors and staff. Attendance was open to all, and some two-hundred people from many faith groups attended the event.

SPIRIT OF THE EAST

     Some 200 people in Mississuaga experienced a heart-opening, soul-stirring evening of sacred music and chant from South East Asia. It was organized and poetically narrated by Raheel Reza, a full time "bridge between gaps" as an interfaith advocate, writer, public speaker, journalist and film maker www.raheelraza.com , with Nomans|Land productions,  www.nomans-land.net

MAYOR DAVID MILLER MEETS WITH THE TORONTO AREA INTERFAITH COUNCIL  - March, 2007  

The aim of this first breakfast meeting was to initiate a dialogue among leaders of city government and of faith communities to create a foundation for understanding, co-operation and partnership between the City of Toronto and the Faith Communities in the Toronto area.  Mayor Miller welcomed this initiative and, with the TAIC, sees this dialogue as the first step of many we can take together.  Read complete report
